Wedding in Grand Haven on Saturday with Jillian and David getting married.  It was another great day with a wonderful bridal party and family.  Everyone was having a great time and it made for some awesome images.  Captured around 2900 images for the day and have about 1/3 of them up online at: http://www.paulretherford.instaproofs.com

Grand Haven Golf Club is a nice reception location.  I am not sure who did Jill and Dave’s flowers but they were great!  I thought that they were fake because they looked so perfect.:-)

I had a couple of friends in town from Wisconsin on Sunday-Tuesday and we fished on my brothers charterboat in Muskegon.  His site is http://www.catchabunch.com
Fishing was a bit slow but we caught some each day.  They took the Ferry Express from Milwaukee and back.

Busy weekend this week.  I am traveling all over the state.  I will literally be doing an entire circle of  lower Michigan this weekend.

Enjoy your 4th weekend and check my online proofs and website at:

Two very smooth Weddings this past weekend.

First Tammy and Tom on Saturday was a great service and a beautiful reception hall.  The service was at Saint Pius X Church in Grandville and the reception was at Sunnybrook Country Club in Grandville.  The wedding party was large, but manageable.  There was a large gap, three hours, between the ceremony and reception and the wedding party rented an open trolley, and it was 95 degrees, so they were a bit tipsy when reception time came.  Case in point, if you are planning an event keep in mind the gap between the ceremony and reception for both your guests and your wedding party.   Everything went great.  See their images online at http://www.paulretherford.instaproofs.com

The second Wedding on Sunday was in Richland with Amanda and Bill.  The ceremony was indoors at New Hope Church and the reception was outdoors on Little Long Lake.  It was raining on and off so we got some rain shots and some sunny shots, and some overcast shots.  It was a great mix of images throughout the day.  The rain did not spoil anything.  They had a live band for the reception music.  It was fun.  People always seem to leave early on Sunday Weddings though.  Great images can be seen at http://www.paulretherford.instaproofs.com

Don’t forget to visit my website at http://www.paulsweddings.com
Come fish with me or my brother in North Muskegon on the Catch-A-Bunch for salmon and trout.  See the site at http://www.catchabunch.com

Have a great day.

This past weekend was extremely busy and a bit stressful.  Everything flowed VERY smoothly and I expanded my photographic knowledge through two seminars.

Thursday night I attended the David Ziser Seminar, Friday I had a wedding in the suburbs of Chicago, Saturday a Wedding in Ionia, Sunday engagement images in Portage, and than I traveled to Cleveland, Ohio for a Seminar on Monday, returning Monday night.

You can see my two Weddings and Engagement images at http://www.paulretherford.instaproofs.com

Friday Wedding had 8 groomsmen, 8 bridesmaids, 4 ushers, 2 flower girls, and of course the bride and groom.  Don’t get much larger than that.  It all worked out great and the Wedding Party had a great time.  The bride and groom actually changed halls three days prior to the event due to construction lapses!  How stressful is that!

For all of you who want a friday wedding, make sure that you allow ample time for images because when the day begins it will fly by like no other.

Saturday Wedding was in Ionia and the Church was wonderful.  The lighting was decent and the decoration was pretty.  I love old churches that actually have nice light!

Sunday the engagement images were in Portage at Celery Flats.  Great spot for engagement shots and we got some really nice images.  I’m going to have to work on the groom smiling a bit more though.

Monday the Seminar with Doug Gordon at my album distributors location.  He is a very systemized photographer that guarantees that you will have certain images in your album.  Great images but I think that his style is WAY too systematic for me and getting the personality of the image is not always there.  I will use some of his techniques and mold them into my free form way of shooting.

What a weekend it was and I am already to this weekend.  Two more weddings this weekend.  Supposed to be really hot too.  Hopefully we have AC.

Take care.

Paul
